Crushing Defeat for the Red Sox

In a game that went into the wee hours of the morning, the Red Sox watched as A-Rod hit one into the Bronx night to end the game. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 15th inning and the Red Sox offense was held to just 4 hits. Beckett, Oki, Bard, Ramirez, Papelbon, MDC. and Saito all kept the Yankees off the board but Junichi Tazawa struggled in his major league debut and gave up the game winning gopher ball.

How can they muster only four hits over fifteen innings, including a bunch of innings against the mediocre Yankee bullpen? The Sox have not hit consistently since before the break. They look as if they are utterly over matched at the plate, night after night. This is getting too painful to watch.

It seemed like once J-Bay started to slump the rest of the team followed. I can't think of a worse game loss for the Sox in recent memory.

Mediocre? We have THE BEST bullpen in the majors, this isn't April. Also our rotation is better than yours right now. After Beckett and Lester, you have no one. I'm not even gonna mention the line-up. My my, how the tide has turned. A few years ago WE had aging players and no home grown talent. Now we lead the majors with 56% of our team being home grown.

wow, a Yankee fan who can say that his rotation is better than the Sox right now....what an insightful comment. 2 of the Red Sox starters are on the DL right now so nobody is claiming the Sox rotation is great at this point.

Save your homegrown BS... look at your starting roster.

You have won 2 games against the Sox this year, settle down

The Yankees lineup (hitting) is the one place where your superiority is obvious or cannot be argued. They are getting hits when they need them and more than that on some nights. Starting pitching? The Sox own the top two spots (not even close) and the Yankees could make an argument for spots 3, 4, and 5. None of those starters for the Yankees are too scary. Bullpen? The Yanks went from laughable to decent. That is all. I am sorry but that is not a lights-out bullpen
