Disaster in K.C.
How do you blow a 6-0 lead to one of the worst teams in all of baseball? Simple, walk 11 batters and give up 11 hits in the game. Wake's struggles were understandable, MDC's were not. The rain, empty stadium and bad pitching in Kansas City all added up to one big shit sandwich and everyone in Red Sox Nation had to take a bite.

Given the unthinkable comebacks by the O's earlier this year and now the KC Royals....I have come to a conclusion.
RedSox + Old Man on The Mound + Huge Early Lead + Crazy Evil Rain + Mediocre Team = Devastating Loss
It's just one games folks...and the silver lining is that the Yanks once again were unable to beat the Angels in Anaheim. So, we have that.
The unsilver lining....tonight...is Paul Byrd...vs...Greinke. You heard me.
That is all.
Not an ideal match-up for the Sox but maybe they can steal one back.
Overconfidence / underestimation? The Royals have been hot of late.

Once you get such a big lead - once you think you've "got it in the bag" as soon as you think you've got the fight won - that is when you are in the most danger / the most vulnerable.
