Meanwhile, in Seattle...

... the Mariners beat the Yankees again today, taking 2 out of 3 in their series. Joba 'Headhunter' Chamberlain couldn't make it past the 3rd inning, getting shellacked to the tune of 3 IP, 6 H's, 7 ER's, 3 BB's, only 2 K's, and 1 HR. Chamberlain is now 8-6, with a 4.72 ERA.


With Seattle's win over the Yankees and the Sox beating the Orioles again today, the Sox are now only 5 games behind the Yankees, but only 4 games behind in the loss column.

The Red Sox Should Feast on Today's Starter for the Mariners

Garrett Olsen is 0-4 with a 7.76 ERA in his career against the Red Sox and he doesn't sound too confident going into today's game:


"The Red Sox are traditionally a patient ballclub, so it's important to get ahead and establish the (strike) zone early," Olson said Friday. "Whereas if you fall behind, it's going to be a long day versus that team. Or it could be short …"

Jeff Bailey hit a home run off of him the last time he faced him and Julio Lugo is batting .417 off of him in 12 AB's. Olsen is making a spot start for Erik Bedard

Look Who's in 1st Place!

In the AL East, it's NOT BOS, NYY, nor TBY ftm, rather Toronto. Won't be long before proper order gets restored in the AL East, but has anyone taken a peek over at the AL Central or AL West?

Never thought I'd see the day with KCR and SEA in 1st, but not the Sox or the Yanks.

I watched tonight's game with Jimmy from the band again. That makes it 2-0 Sox over Yanks when we watch the game together. I guess we'll have to do this more often!
