Oki Is Not So Doki

I usually agree with Francona's moves in a ballgame but I must say I was perplexed when he went to the struggling Hideki Okajima in the 8th. Oki admitted earlier in the season that he does not do well with runners on base but Tito brought him in with Carlos Lee on first. After a wild pitch put the runner in scoring position, Oki served up a hit to former Sox second baseman Mark Loretta to put the Astros up 3-2. The Sox could not score a run in the 9th and leave Houston losing 2 out of 3. They now take on the Rays in a series for top spot in the A.L. East. Okajima has not been the pitcher he was last year and the bullpen is filled with question marks. It is time for Theo to see what is out there before the deadline.

We're headed to that fake, plastic dump known as "The Trop" and tomorrow... THERE WILL BE BLOOD

I want the word "BITCH" stamped on every forehead in the Rays lineup.

Sweep and 2.5 games on top by thursday morning. LET'S GO!

If Oki finds his Doki, and Lugoat finds his glove....mebbe. Wake is coming off a very good performance, and he will be pitching indoors, so that's a good thing.
Still, it'll be tough to sweep the Rays 2x in a row. Hopin' for the best, though!

Um, I thought is was spelled biotch?

FW - I was confused too. Aardsma had only faced two batters, got the first out and gave up a single. Why pull him so fast? Aardsma has been pitching well. I'm sure he had a few more pitches left in him. Usually, Oki would go in quickly like that if there was a good lefty matchup, like with Giambi or someone like that. Not sure why he got the hook.
