Tazawa Gets Shelled

Junichi Tazawa looked like he was throwing BP to the White Sox last night. He only lasted 4 innings after giving up 1o hits and 9 earned runs.

The Red Sox offense tried to rally back and cut the deficit with 2 homers by J.D. Drew and another by Alex Gonzales but it proved to be not enough.

Jacoby Ellsbury left the game early after he injured his ankle on a slide. The injury was reported as a mild ankle sprain which will cause him to miss a game or two.

The highlight of the night came when shortstop Nick Green was called on to save the bullpen by pitching the 8th and 9th innings. He was throwing close to 90 on the gun and was able to get through both innings without giving up a hit, although he did walk 3.

Anyone named Nick, head over to the bullpen! Swisher! Get your ass over there! Green! You, too!

The loss was ALMOST worth it...to see Greenie pitching out there for 2 innings. And he didn't throw a lot of strikes, but he got the job done...heck of a lot better than Taz did.

Also, my boy...JD Drew smacked two balls outta the park.

So, for a loss...it did leave me smiling.
