Cash and Buchholz Have Something to Prove In Toronto

With Bartolo lumbering towards the 5th spot in the rotation, Clay Buccholz will have his work cut out for him in Toronto on Saturday. If he stumbles he may have been given his last change to prove he should be in the rotation and the spot will belong to el Gordo. The same may be true of Kevin Cash tonight. Buster Olney wrote this in his blog today:
"Scouts and officials with other teams say the Red Sox have been actively making inquiries about catchers, which makes sense, because among AL contenders, their backup situation isn't strong. For example: Toronto has Gregg Zaun and Rod Barajas, the Indians have Victor Martinez and Kelly Shoppach, the Yankees have Jorge Posada and Jose Molina."
If Cash struggles at the plate or cannot handle the knuckleball his time with Boston may be limited.
