Colon To DL, Chris Smith Called Up
Bartolo Colon is headed to the 15 day disabled list with a bad back. He hurt his back on a swing in last night's game, the big gut can put a strain on the back when it gets in motion. Relief pitcher Chris Smith was called up from Pawtucket to take Colon's spot on the roster but no word about the rotation yet. Dice-K could take Colon's next starting spot, Buchholz could also be called up at a later date to take the start.

Props to the big man! He could've just left the bat on his shoulder but he went up there and took his hacks (even if he looked a little silly in the process) ;-P
He might have tried for a bunt, but I'm sure he didn't want to become the first player in history to be tagged out by the pitcher before he could get out of the batters box.
Just imagine what Francona and the other coaches were saying as he went up to the plate for the first time "Oh christ, here we go...." ^O^
