The Boston media has descended on Fort Myers to start to cover spring training. Finally we get some updates about the players that have arrived and what they have been up to. President Obama will be in Fort Myers today to deliver a speech so there may be some traffic around town. I have to admit it does seem strange to not have the "When will Manny arrive?" storyline out there, although we do have the "When will Manny sign with a team?" storyline.

hope you will take the time to vote for Obama on Nov. 4. I respect that there are Republican Red Sox fans out there and some of them thankfully visit this site. I met John McCain in 2006 and he was a very nice guy but I just disagree with him on the future of our country on several issues. The election will not be close in California but it will be in other states so please make your vote count wherever you are. You have the power to put the country in a new direction so please do your part and vote for Obama.
The baseball card company has screwed up a card based on Jason Varitek and Foulke's celebration in 2004 with images of Obama and Clinton. The card that went to print got the picture wrong with the pitcher (Obama) jumping and not the catcher (Clinton) like in the famous picture.
