Jason Bay played yesterday going 2-2 with 3 RBI's but his good effort at the plate did not help Canada as they were eliminated from the tourney with a 6-2 loss to Italy. Team USA will play the winner of the Italy/Venezuela game on Wednesday. Big Papi will play tonight in a rematch with the Netherlands.

The Red Sox played a 4 hour game against the Pirates winning 15-14. Lester gave up 4 runs (1 earned) in 2 1/3 innings of work. Manny Delcarmen gave up 2 runs in 1 inning. Jeff Bailey went 3-4 and Josh Bard had two hits in the game. Nick Green continued swing a hot bat with a homer in the game.

Mike Lowell returns to action today against Baltimore.
