Music of Summer

The Boston Pops Orchestra is releasing a The Red Sox Album on opening day. The album includes the following:

THE RED SOX ALBUM TO FEATURE NEW ARRANGEMENTS OF FENWAY’S FAN ANTHEM “SWEET CAROLINE,” THE DROPKICK MURPHYS’ “I’M SHIPPIN’ UP TO BOSTON,” AND “TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME;” “THE STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER” AND A MUSICAL VERSION OF BASEBALL’S FAMOUS HEART-WRENCHER, “CASEY AT THE BAT,” ALSO FEATURED

The album is part of a joint effort by the Boston Pops and the Red Sox:

“This CD marks the next exciting chapter in what continues to be a tremendous partnership between two of Boston’s most storied institutions,” said Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino. “The Boston Pops and the Boston Symphony have provided the soundtrack for some of the most memorable moments at Fenway Park. With the release of ‘The Red Sox Album’, they are giving fans a new way to enjoy music that is inextricably linked with our team and our players. This one-of-a-kind album was produced by one of America’s favorite orchestras, led by one of America’s most talented conductors, for one of America’s most beloved teams.”
