NY Post Photographer Angers Papelbon

Jonathan Papelbon was not happy after blowing the save on Saturday night when a NY Post photographer tried to take his picture. Paps responded with, "Don't take my fucking picture," and then threw a towel at him. The towel missed.

Pap...couldn't even throw towels for strikes, eh? tee, hee, hee.

Oh good lord. The lunatic that is also know as "Blown Save Pap" is both amusing and terrifying at the same time. Hey at least he's not Brad "ho hum" Lidge about it.

I am amused at the misdirected anger following blown saves. What did the water cooler really do to anger you? Are you really angry at the 2nd base umpire? Is the NY Post taking your picture really what is upsetting you?

Oh Pap. I adore you and yes, you entertain me. I adore you more when you don't become a lunatic...because that means you aren't blowing saves. I can't wait for him to get right back on that horse and I fully expect him to use this past outing as motivation, for sure.

What more can expect from such a classy guy. Try comparing him to Rivera.

Papelbon and Rivera are like night and day. Two very different styles. I like Mo, I hate the team he plays for, but you would be hard pressed to find me saying a bad word about the guy.

I find it interesting how NY fans love to bash Pap...and after 2011, they are going to be salivating to get him on their team.

Yes, Mo is much more contained after a blown save. We got to witness it this year. Pap goes crazy. It's not pretty, but I accept it. It's part of what makes him so good at what he does.

And to compare their lines...shows how good both Mo and Pap are at what they do:

Pap: 12/13 saves, 2.57 ERA (thanks to the last 2 games), 1.38 WHIP, 11 BB

Mo: 9/10 saves, 2.73 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 1 BB

Pap's BBs need to come down and I have faith they will. He is getting more comfortable with his new mechanics and pounding the strike zone a lot more. And his WHIP will continue to fall. If Pap is executing his pitching (Beckett would be so proud of me) then he is almost unstoppable.
