Yankee Fan Comments

Just thought I would share some of the comments by Yankee fans on the LoHud Yankees Blog after tonight's game:

  • The whole “lots of games left” remark got us 3rd place last season.
  • George isin’t in good health and Hal doesn’t even want to own the Yankees. He’s just doing it out of respect for his father. Hank is probably on the horse farm somewhere, probably doesn’t even know the season has started.

  • “Wonder what Cashman was thinking as he was watching that 8th inning unfold.” He was thinking, if I would of spent even 1 minute on the bullpen in the off season we could of won this game.

  • theres no panic for me…just disappointment, frustration, sickness, illness and despair….hmmm panic might feel better

  • Not gonna panic. But wow, this blows. I feel numb. Time to find some vodka
  • I’m not going to work tomorrow.
  • What do you want from a team of millionaires who really only care about when their next paycheck is coming. I typically get over losses within a few hours, but this one is gonna mess with my weekend plans. I am so embarrassed.
  • WHATS THE NUMBER TO THE YANKEES SUICIDE HOT LINE?????????

When Yankee fans want to buy tickets through ticketmaster they need to type in a security check. The system tries to use words a typical Yankee fan will understand. See below:

Out and About Today (Yankee Fans Everywhere! Aaagghh!!)

I was out and about town today with my Sox hat on, making a couple of quick stops. At the pharmacy, I got in line behind a guy wearing a NY hat. He looked at me and said something to the effect of, "Uh-oh! Red Sox!" I didn't sense that he was about turn mean or nasty, but just didn't know what to say. I engaged him in some conversation, told him about the Yankee fan bartender that served Matt and I at the ASG last summer and how straight up he was. I told him about my father being a Yankee fan, and that I wrote for this blog. We spoke of Sabathia, Teixeira, and the Steinbrenner's (Yankee fans can't stand them, either!) I also told him that I have written on more than one occasion that not all Yankee fans are scumbags, to which he enjoyed a little chuckle.
Next up, some guy on craigslist posted that he was selling some percussion equipment in the Target parking lot. Sounded sketchy, but since it was right here in town, and I was out anyhow, I decided to stop by and see what wares he had for sale. (No cowbells, though.) Pretty much the same discussion happened with him, too.
OK, so it's winter and there's not a whole lot going on right now as we wait for more Hot Stove news. Just thought I'd try and promote some goodwill between Red Sox and Yankee fans. It's not the Yankees that we can't stand (as long as they finish behind the Sox), it's the Steinbrenner's! Even the Yankee fans say so!

Yankee Fan w/Laser Fails to Rattle Byrd

Yankee fans will sink to the absolute lowest depths in attempting to gain an edge for da Bronx Bums. A fan apparently tried to shake the Byrd cage by flashing a laser light at him during the game. Byrd, being the professional he is, ignored the inconvenience (unlike Joba and the flies) and continued to pitch a most excellent game. The umpires, however, were more concerned than Byrd and convened on the mound with him about it. The mysterious light seemed to have disappeared after the mound convention.
