The Sox Are Not Going To Trade Youk For Teixeria
Gordon Edes of the Boston Globe said that Theo was throwing around the idea of a deal with the Braves sending Youk and Hansen for Teixeria. Here's why it won't happen:
Teixeria is a free agent next year and the Sox would have to spend big money to keep him while Youk is a relative bargain.
Youk's numbers are just as good as Teixeria's, so why would the Sox even have to throw in Hansen?

Youk is a much better fielder and can play 1st and 3rd. This is just one of those silly rumors that comes up when beat writers need to fill some space during the All-Star Break

The question for me: will the Red Sox pursue Teixeria in the off season as a replacement for Manny?
This is the first I heard of this rumor.../.. GOD HELP US IF TRUE!!! Why in the world would the Sox trade Youk for anyone (even the entire Braves team!!!) Youk is the SOX MVP every day... Hell NO... No trade of YOUK anytime for anyone... (And.. Give the guy a new contract that represents hove valuable he really is!!!)
Theo was asked directly about it yesterday and said their was no truth to it.
I certainly hope Youk is here to stay (for a little while, anyways). He makes the games enjoyable to watch with his dedication and perseverance.
