Red Sox Continue to Own the Yankees

It took just 4 hours and 21 minutes for the dust to settle and for the Red Sox to emerge with a 16-11 victory. The ace Josh Beckett was on the mound but he did not pitch well and quickly put the Sox in a6 run hole. Tek's grand slam in the bottom of the 4th made it a 1-run game and by the 5th Boston had a 2-run lead. Tito surprised everyone by bringing Beckett back out to pitch the 6th were he quickly gave up the lead. The game then see-sawed back and forth but the Sox took the lead for good with Mike Lowell's homer in the 6th.

The Red Sox pitching was not good at any point in the game but the big hits came when they were needed. The Yankees have to feel totally defeated after blowing a 6-run lead with A.J. Burnett cruising. If you were watching the game in the 3rd inning there is no way you would believe that Burnett would give up 8 earned runs in the game.

The game was not all fun; especially having to listen to McCarver and Buck. Ortiz continued to struggle at the plate, J.D. Drew looked lost in the batter's box, and Pedroia had an error that almost cost the Red Sox the game.

The Red Sox are on an amazing run right now having won 9 in a row. I fell lucky to have been to the first two games in this streak but I am putting the credit with the Chicken Man.
