Red Sox Pitcher Clay Buchholz is going on the DL with a "broken nail" on his pitching hand. The Sox needed a new outfielder to fill in for the injured Drew so this opened up the spot.
Jonathan Van Every was called up from Pawtucket today, he was acquired during the off-season and has been playing center.

I think Bucholz needs to go back to Pawtucket for a bit. He's underperforming, and trying to pitch with a broken fingernail while not telling anyone is a good sign he needs some more seasoning and maturity.
