Wake Digs Too Big of a Hole

The Red Sox offense tried valiantly to overcome the massive hole dug by Tim Wakefield early in the game but it was not enough. For some reason Wake's knuckler has not been effective indoors this season. He gave up 7 runs in 2 2/3 innings tonight and earned the loss. The offense did its part with 15 hits and 8 runs including 2 in the 9th but they fell one run short of tying it up.
