Lester Throws BP to Jays
What was that? Jon Lester had become the ace of the staff but today he looked like Clay Buchholz. Here's his line: 8 hits, 2 walks, 7 earned runs in 2 1/3 innings. Ouch. Tito called for Chris Smith who followed Lester's lead with a train wreck of his own. Smith's line: 6 hits and 4 earned runs in 2 1/3 innings. The Sox had a huge hole to dig out of and were not up to the challenge; the offense only put up 4 hits and was shut out. Strangely enough the Red Sox can win the series tomorrow in Toronto as Dice-K tries to get the team back in the winning groove.

ah fuggedabout it already. at least once a year our boys gotta get their asses whooped. at least it wasn't the yankees. remember the massacres of '78 & '06? maybe it'll knock some sense into the bullpen. b'sides, lester 'n beckett were due for stinkers anyhow. better now than end of sept.
good point, if they can win today it will be a successful series.
