Answering to a Higher Authority

A Red Sox fan was temporarily released from a 10-day jail sentence so he could go to tonight's Red Sox game in Kansas City.

“These ball games are among the few pleasures the defendant has in life. He had been looking forward eagerly to attending this game with his family,” King said.
Judge Waggoner said Barker’s request was “reasonable under the circumstances” and granted the request.

I don't think this is going to give Tito much inspiration for a "Win one for the Gipper" type pre-game speech, but it is nice to see that the power of Red Sox Nation reaches into Van Buren County's justice system.
