Buchholz Can Rest Easy, Colon Gets Shelled in Rehab Outing

If you are thinking that Buchholz's days with the Sox are numbered and he will be replaced by Bartolo Colon in the near future you might want to think again. In his first rehab start since getting injured swinging a bat (the gut got moving too fast) el Gordo did not get through an inning. The Sox had planned for him to pitch two innings tonight for the PawSox in Scranton but he had to be pulled after two-thirds of an inning for giving up four hits, three runs, and a walk. He threw 32 pitches, 18 for strikes and had one K. The Sox are taking the slow road for Colon's recovery so this wil not be much of a setback but it might make Masterson a little happier.
