Kotsay's Injury Means JVE is Here to Stay

Mark Kotsay is having new medical tests in Boston today on his calf injury. The Red Sox will most likely keep Jonathan Van Every as the backup outfielder in Kotsay's absence. The string of injuries to Lowrie and Youk have made caused some problems for the Red Sox because both Youk and Lowrie can play 3rd base allowing Tito to give Lowell an occasional day off. Now Lowell will have to hold down the hot corner for a while and Jeff Bailey will be at first until Youk comes back. It is doubtful that Tito will have Big Papi play first unless Bailey gets hurt too. When Baldelli returns Bailey will be the one to go as long as Youk is OK and JVE will still see some time in the outfield. The PawSox roster has been doing a great job of keeping the Red Sox machine chugging.
