Seattle Sweep

It took extra innings and a few misplays by the Mariners outfield, but the Sox leave the West Coast on a three game win streak. Ichiro made a spectacular catch early to rob J.D. of his 19th home run but the Sox were able to jump out to an early lead on Felix Hernandez. Buchholz pitched better but still ran into some problems and left the game with a no decision after the Mariners tied it up. Masterson was perfect in his first relief appearence and the rest of the pen held the Mariners off the board for the remainder of the game. Mike Lowell had the winning hit in the twelfth and Hansen came in to earn his second save of the season and preserve the win for the Sox.

"Hansen came in to earn his second save of the season and preserve the win for the Sox."
But with a 3 run lead, one would've thought it would be an easy inning.

Another key play was Lowell turning the double play in the 11th (?) with the winning run on third. Gutsy, to go around the horn rather than go home.
