Sox Win Massive Slugfest

When Zink retired the first 3 Rangers batters in order I thought we might be in for a quick night. After the Sox offense batted around in the bottom of the first and put up 10 runs including 2 home runs by Ortiz I thought we might be in for a relaxing night. What ensued can was a total collapse by the Sox pitching staff and an unbelievable performance by Boston at the plate, especially Pedroia, Ortiz and Youk. I cannot do justice to the summary of this game so I will suggest you check out The Rational Red Sox Fan or A Red Sox Fan From Pinstripe Territory for a complete review of the events tomorrow morning(authors from both sites were at the game) and watch the clip below.

Mike Lowell did have to leave the game with a strained oblique so he may be out for a few games.

What a wild ride!! I am thrilled that they won, but their pitching staff should hide their faces in shame. Too bad it took dramatics from Youk to win it.

When Youk hit that shot in the 8th..... a little pee came out.

I think the best move of the game was when Tito had Ellsbury pinch hit. Watching him score on Pedroia's wall ball is an overlooked moment of the game.
