Brad Penny + Lack of Clutch Hitting = Another Loss

The A's got to Penny right out of the gate, hitting his first pitch over the Monster. They would bat around in the first and put 5 runs on the board. Mike Lowell tried to bring the Red Sox back with a 3-run homer in the bottom of the first but that was the end of the clutch hitting. The Red Sox had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the 8th when Big Papi came in to pinch hit but he popped it up to the pitcher's mound. The had they tying run at the plate again in the 9th but Jason Bay struck out on a check swing and J.D. Drew gounded out to end the game. The Yankees won again so the Red Sox fall to 3.5 games back in the A.L. East. Time for Theo to make something happen.
