After overcoming an early A's lead, it looked like the Red Sox were in the driver's seat to cruise to an easy victory on Jim Rice's night. Paps entered the game with a 3-run lead but blew the save (with some help from Nick Green) and allowed the game to go to extra innings where the A's won it in the 11th.
